Kimley-Hom and Associates (KHA) performed a visual review of the public sidewalk along
Denton Tap Road in front of the site as you requested. We traveled to the site and performed the
visual review on Thursday September 23, 2004. We placed a 4-foot digital level on the cross
slopes of this sidewalk and at the driveway cross walks. We found that the public sidewalk
exceeds 2% cross slope in most places and generally varies between 1% and 5%.
We also measured the running slope of the public sidewalk curb ramp at the northwest comer of
the site, as you requested. We found that the running slope measured 13.4% which exceeds the
maximum allowed by ADA/TAS of 8.33%.
Based on my understanding of ADA and TAS regulations, these slopes exceed the maximum
permitted slopes for accessible routes, and accessible curb ramps.
