October 6, 2004 Mr. Larry Davis Construction Inspector Engineering Department 255 Parkway Boulevard PO Box 9478 Coppell, Texas 75019-4978 Re: First Baptist Church of Coppell Site Re-Review Mr. Davis: Kimley-Hom and Associates (KHA) performed a visual review of the public sidewalk along Denton Tap Road in front of the site as you requested in September. I traveled to the site on Tuesday October 5, 2004 and performed the visual re-review to confirm the observations and measurements that KHA made on September 23. I placed a 4-foot digital level on the cross slopes of this sidewalk and at the driveway cross walks at various locations. I found that the public sidewalk in most places has a cross slope of 2% or less. There are a few places where the 2% cross slope is exceeded; these places are identified in the four diagrams attached to this letter. In addition, the island near the north Denton Tap driveway contains a sidewalk that connects the public sidewalk to the site's private sidewalk. Running slopes and cross slopes on this sidewalk exceed 5% and 2% respectively. Based on my understanding of ADA and TAS regulations, cross slopes greater than 2% and running slopes greater than 5% exceed the maximum permitted slopes for accessible routes, and accessible curb ramps.
