Deforest Road Force Main Line 'D' Project SS 99 -01
Following is a brief status of the Force Main Line 'D' project.
All equipment has been relocated to its new position in anticipation of the next bore. This includes
construction and shoring of all pits, determining the actual path aligmnent, installing new gears,
installing a new swivel and inspecting and replacing hoses as necessmy. The contractor is ready to
begin on the new bore fi.om approximately Sta. 4000 to Sta. 4800 Monday morning, Oct 4, 2004.
The following is the timetable for anticipated construction of the next bore:
10/4/04 - 10/6/04 {Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday) -
Drill pilot hole
10/7/04 - 10/9/04 (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) -
Drill 24" hole
Also, during the week of October 4-8, 2004, the contractor will finish the manhole and air release
valve and clean-up site by Lakeside Elementary, south of Laguna.
10/11/04 - 10/13/04 (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday) -
Drill 36" hole
10/14/04 - 10/16/04 (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) -
Drill 46" hole
10/18/04 - 10/23/04 {Monday thru Saturday) -
Continue to drill 46" hole, modify mud make-up as necessary, and any miscellaneous issues associated
with the 46" hole.
10/25/04 - 10/29/04 {Monday thru Friday) -
Pull pipe during this week.
The last bore was 1240 feet, this bore is being modified to be 800 feet long. So it should be a quicker
bore than the previous one. Also, with the replacement to the equipment i.e., new gears, swivels, hoses
and the construction of the new 36" and 46" cutting-heads, it is anticipated that the contractor will stay
on schedule and will have this section of pipe in by the end of October 2004.
