Public Meeting Notes
Dear Ms. Heimann:
There was not a handout or any meeting minutes prepared for the public meeting held on October 5, 2004.
The following items were discussed during the meeting:
The consultant will evaluate extending the historic area to Park Lane and possibly all the way to the
Grapevine Creek bridge. The enhanced features are currently shown to end at the west intersection of
Hearthstone Lane. This would include using the enhanced pavement in the sidewalks and adding
poles with banner arms at each end of the Grapevine Creek.
The consultant will evaluate extending the sidewalk on the north side from the current end at Station
20+50 to the first intersection with Hearthstone Lane for the Old Coppell Estates subdivision. This
would probably be a 5-foot wide sidewalk along the curb.
3. The consultant will evaluate adjusting the horizontal alignment between Park Lane and Penfolds Lane
to save trees along The Reserve.
4. The City Engineer discussed the enhancements for the box culverts on Coppell Road N. and Bethel
Road.
5. The issue of the left turn lane from Bethel Road onto Coppell Road N. was raised. The consultant
and the city will look at this issue and make a decision on the turn lane.
The City Engineer discussed the tree removal and the right-of-way acquisition. Letters along with
copies of the legal description and plats will be sent to the impacted property owners in the near
future.
A final decision has not been made about the bridge replacement over Grapevine Creek. The City
Engineer presented the options to gauge the opinions of the residents that would be impacted. The
detour route using Southwestern was presented as well.
The exhibits for the meeting and the construction plans are available for review in the Engineering
