Louis respectfully requests payment for the deleted air release valve at Sra. 9+17~85, as described in the R.F.I_ In your response, you confirm that the City has agreed to pay for ductile iron pipe materials mad fittings, borings under trees, and steel encasement that were eliminated through the use of HDPE pipc by directmnal drilling. You then state that the elimination of the above mentioned a/r release valve warrants a credit to the City. There is no difference in any of these items therefore, why would and/or should the City receive a credit for this item when they have previously agreed to pay for all items as if the ductile iron pipe had been installed (no exceptions)? Methods of payment were very clear in previous correspondence related to this change and payment for this air release valve was at no exception. S.I. Louis does not tmderstand how the City can justify not paying for this air release valve but will pay for steel encasement that does not exist. There is no difference in these items and payment for this air release valve was always part of the agreement. We feel the City agreed to pay for this item and that thc City is wrong in their claim to a credit. Furthermore, given the City's written agreements, we feel the City is acting very unprofessional by claiming a credit. Please respond to this letter and acknowledge the City's response but, pleasc be axvare that we feel very strongly in our position and will not accept asxything other than payment for this item, given ottr agreement.
