'I'CB has reviewed and has ~o exceptions to eliminating the 22.5 degree bends at the
following locations indicated in the RFI:
Sm2+58,09
o Sta2+69.91
Sta5+05.71
· Sta 5+30.52
Elimination of these bends will require that the Contractor deflect the pipe .joints in order to
hit the required elevations at the bores. Deflection of joints must not exceed the pipe
manufacturer's recommended maximum joint deflection.
In addition, TCB has reviewed and has no exccptions to installing two 22.5 degree l~ends in
lieu of a 45 degree bend at Station 6+37.12.

This R.F.I. is regards to the 30" force man on the above referenced projeot. We have had an incorrect number
of 30" ductile iron bends delivered to the project. Per abe plans, we are shor~ one (1) 225 degree bend and one
(1) 45 degree bead. A total of seven (7) 22.5 degree beads were ordered. Due tn the availability of the bends,
we are proposing to defle~ the pipe joints from stations 1-20 thru 2*73 and stations 3+09.81 thru 5+36 in order
to hit thc required elevations at the bores. If this is acceptable, the 22.5 degree bends at Stations 2+58.09,
2~69.91, 5+05.71, & 5+30.$2 would be deleted, Given this, we would install four (4) of the bends at Stations
2+94, 3+09, 6+09, & 6+39 and would hastall two (2) at Station 6+37.12 in heu ora 45 degree b~ad. We have
ddscussed this alternative with the City in the field, and have received their approval if acceptable to the
Engineer. If this is acceptable, please let us know as soon a~ possible. Please call me at the offiec once you
have reviewed this.
