The city wanted to determine which firms were interested in the project, and their proposed approach to providing testing services for this project prior to selecting one firm for the materials testing. Following the receipt of several proposals, it is apparent that my letter was not explicit enough, and there is some confusion on what information to providc in thc proposal. The October 14 letter provided a brief description of the project, anticipated start date, and an estimate of the materials testing required. The city is interested in how your firm will provide testing for this roadway construction project. This includes capability to perform thc identified testing, an5' prior experience with roadway construction projects, kc3' personnel who will be assigned to this project, how the testing will be coordinated with thc city, and the typical formats of your reports and invoices. It is understood that engineering firms arc selected on their qualifications and a cost estimate for the construction materials testing should not be included in thc proposal. Your proposal is being returned If Ronc Engineers is still intcrcstcd in providing testing scrvices, please submit a proposal with the requested information. Proposals nccd to be returned by December 7, 2004. Once all of the proposals arc received, the city will select one firm and enter into negotiations with that firm for a construction materials testing agreement. Your consideration of this matter is appreciated and should you have any questions or need any additional information, please advise.
