Ken,
Sam and I have spent some time looking into the option of constructing a
new bridge just north of the existing bridge and maintaining one drivabte lane of
existing during construction. The on/y problem we've encountered is a siphon
box on the sanitary sewer//ne that runs on the north side. The box is right where
the new bridge abutment needs to be, It will need to be relocated and designed
to make sure the design of the sewer line is not negatively impacted.
I'd like to discuss this and the option of going iust to the north of the
siphon box. This would require more ROW than the first option, but would save
rebuilding the box that was just designed in 1995.
The cost difference between the two options hinges on the cost of the
ROW, Tax data shows an apj~raisal value of about $2/sf. We assumed that you
would have a cost of $4/sf. This would generate a cost of about $640,000 for
,b. pth options. The second option is slightly more using the $4/sf ROW cost and
wou{d be considerably more ii' the ROW costs are even higher, We wanted to
discussed this assumption with you and get your general feedback before we
send the illustrations and bacl~ up to you. Could you call me at 214-217-2217 to
discuss? Or my cell phone at 817-239-6820.
Thanks,
Trish
