Can you take a look at these and then discuss them with Ken. Let us know if we should go ahead and start revising the plans to reflect these changes. The first shows the left-turn lane in Bethel Rd at the Coppell Rd signal. Based on the anecdotal evidence from speaking with Ken and the residents at the public meeting, it seems like the left-turn is needed if we can make it fit within the available ROW. I laid this out using 12' wide lanes atthe intersection and the impact is relatively minor. The hike & bike trail west of Coppell Rd will have to be adjacent to the curb and the parking east of the intersection will need to be pushed back about 2 feet. Also, we would need to prepare a new ROW document for the corner clip on the northeast corner. The second sketch shows the possible realignment from Park Lane to Penfolds Lane at the Reserve subdivision (Sta 31+00 to 38+60). The road is shifted 5 to the north to align the proposed curb with the existing edge of pavement. To attempt to save the clusters of trees at 33+60 and 34+40 a 12" block wall will be needed between the curb and the trees. The trees at 35+10 and 35+80 can be avoided if we meander the sidewalk behind the tree. The one thing we need to investigate in the field is the condition of the brick fence at 264 Bethel Road. Depending on what I find, the transition may have to begin at Sta 33+00 instead of Sta 31+00. The third sketch shows the realignment near Armstrong Blvd at the Summit at the Springs subdivision. By shifting the road 5' to the north, we are able to lessen the impact to the landscaping from Sta 45+00 to 47+00. The change puts the realigned sidewalk even with the current curb line. The one thing it really helps with is being able to put in larger corner radii without having a lot of impact on the subdivision entrance. I looked at the cross- sections and I don't think the change will impact any of the trees on the north side of the road. It also leaves moms for a 5' sidewalk along that side within the ROW if the City ever comes back through to add that along Bethel Rd. I saw your question to Trish earlier this week about maintaining two-way traffic during the bridge reconstruction. I'm trying to come up with a generalized sequencing plan that would allow the contractor to work on the bddge and, at the same time, some other work on the project.
