Dear Mr. Teter:
I am in receipt of your letter dated July 20, 2000.
In my opinion you failed to show a cost comparison between the drilled shaft wall as bid, and
an alternate which would include a combination of the drilled shaft and gravity wall for panels
RW 1 through RW 8.
I believe the more accurate comparison based on the information provided on the construction
plans and the associated bid items would be as follow:

Considering that the site conditions have not changed since this work was bid and considering
that it is not in the City of Coppell's interest to invest more than the $62,685.48 necessary to
construct the wall, please direct your subcontractor to build the drilled shaft retaining wall as
bid.
