Second Submittal, Construction Plan Review Comments
Dear Mr. Blacker:
The City of Coppell has reviewed the referenced plans and has the following comments to offer:
1. We previously requested a rninimum 30' radius on the curb return coming off Denton Tap. I
understand the Fire Marshal has accepted the additional width of the drive approach in lieu that
larger radius, therefore that comment can be disregarded.
2. The existing barrier-free ramps will need to be replaced if they do not meet current ADA
requirements. We have a note to that effect, you can either leave the note or change it to go ahead
and replace those ramps, as they most likely do not meet standards.
3. You added a typical pavement section to show lime-stabilized subgrade - our minimum lime
content is 30 lbs. per square yard. You may submit a written request for a variance to the lime
requirement with a plan showing an increase in the strength or thickness of the concrete.
4. You located your FDC on the Utility Plan, however it does not meet our requirements for location
as it should be located next to one of the fire hydrants adjacent to the fire lane. There are some
additional notes with our standards for your information.
Please submit revised copies for the City Engineer's stamp. The City of Coppell requires three sets for
its use; your office should submit as many additional sets as necessary for construction operations.
All contractors and subcontractors onsite must have a copy of the plans approved by the City of
Coppell.
All fees must be paid prior to release of this project for construction. The City assesses a 2%
inspection fee for all private construction and 4% for public installations as shown on the enclosed
Permit Application (page 3). If you have any questions or nced any additional infon*nation, please
