RE: Utility Relocation Submittal
Dear Mr. Porter:
The City of Coppell has received and reviewed the plans submitted for the Bethel Road
relocation of 360Networks ;md Quest Communications facilities, and we have the following
comments to offer:
1. Your installation is approximately 1.5' behind the proposed future curb inlets. I suggest you
lower your installation adjacent to the proposed inlets so that you are a minimum 2' below
the bottom of the proposed inlets as well. This would minimize the chance of the fiber being
cut during excavation for the construction of the inlets.
2. It appears that you do not have the most recent set of plans for the end of your relocation at
Freeport Parkway. That intersection will be widened south of Bethel Road on Freeport. I
have attached the latest plan for your review.
We have acquired the last portion of right-of-way so that is no longer a consideration for your
construction schedule.
Once you have reviewed the above comments and determined the best course of action, please
submit any revised plans with the permit application for the Bethel Road relocation so that work
can begin. A permit form is included with this letter.
We have also reviewed the Sandy Lake Road reconstruction plans you submitted and have the
following comments on those plans:
1. A portion of the work you are proposing is located within the City of Grapevine anct will
need to be coordinated with them.
2. Your crossing of SH 121 will require a permit and coordination with TxDOT for that work.
3. We do not yet have right-of-way for the portion on the south side of Sandy Lake Rd. between
SIt 121 and Royal Lane within the City of Coppell, so that work cannot take place until the
ROW is acquired.
4. In addition, where you propose to emss Royal Lane, it appears that you are showing incorrect
elevations of the box culverts under Royal. Please check those, I show an elevation of 514.
Make sure you will be a minimum of 2' below that.
5. Verify the locations of the water and sewer lines that you propose to go between. You may
have to go underneath both if the locations are different than shown.
After you have reviewed the above comments, please provide us with updated plans. We will
need verification from City of Grapevine that your proposed work in their limits is permitted,
and a copy of the permit from TxDOT for the crossing of SH121. Feel free to call if you have
any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Keith R. Marvin, P.E.
