Dear Mr. Tiseo:
This letter is written as a follow-up to our telephone conversation of November 29, 2004
concerning the bid submitted for the construction of East Sandy Lake Road. In reviewing the bid
submitted by your firm, it was noted on Bid Item #I-57 that a math error was made in providing a
Iump sum bid for that pay item. In the specifications for the project, on page 5-12, Descriptions of
Pay Items, it states: "Note: The total amount of bid for Mobilization & Demobilization shall not
exceed five percent (5%) of the total contract amount, exclusive of this pay item (adjusted contract
amount)." Your bid was submitted in such a way that the Mobilization & Demobilization was bid
at five percent (5%) of the total contract, including the cost of Mobilization & Demobilization.
Section 19.1 of the Bidding Documents, page 1-12 states: "Discrepancies between the indicated
sum of any column of figures and the correct sum thereof will be resolved in favor of the correct
sum." Because the bid amount for Pay Item #I-57 has been deemed a math error, it will be resolved
in favor of the correct sum.
Therefore, I have adjusted your bid as follows:

In making the adjustment to the math error you are still the low bidder on the project. Therefore, at
the December 14, 2004 City Council meeting staffwill recommend the award of the contract for the
reconstruction of East Sandy Lake Road to Tiseo Paving Company in an amount of $,4,828,324.41.
