I've summarized my figures below: · Flow line of 12" PVC sanitary sewer line at approx. 500 · Top of 12" PVC sanitary sewer line at approx 501 · 1' of clearance puts bottom of box culvert at 502 · Top of box culvert then sits at 508.34 (bottom box thickness of 0.67', plus 5' box opening, plus top box thickness of 0.67') The 1' of clearance will allow room to encase the line with 6" of concrete and still have 6" clearance below the box culverts. I believe F&N preferred that the top of the box culvert not exceed 507.68, based on an earlier e- mail (around May 2004), but could make some changes that would allow the box culverts to be raised 1.30 feet to 508.98. Please call if you have any questions or comments. Thanks. Craig ..... Original Message ..... Even if we do not construct the gabion channel - the design of the box culvert under Bethel will need to be finalized so that F&N can proceed. In our meeting with the Corps, I explained to them that there was an existing sewer line in the roadway that could not be lowered or relocated. I also told them that we could not lower the interior boxes to allow for the pilot channel flow - and that we were limited in what we could build.
