L OW PRESSURE AIR TEST FOR GPA VITY SANITARY SEWER
Test Procedure:
Each section et sewer shall be tested between sucessJve manholes.
Air shall be introduced into the pipeline until 4.0 psi gauge pressure has been reached.
Al that lime the flow of air shall be reduced and the internal air pressure shall be maintained
oefween 35 and 4.5 psi gauge for at least two(2) minutes to allow the air tempereture to come
to equilibrium with the temperature of the pipe wall~. Pressure in the pipe shall be constantly
monitored by a gauge and hose arrangement separate from the hose used to introduce air into
the iine Pressure in the pipe shall not be allowed to exceed 5 psi.
Aher me lemperalure has stabilized and no air leaks at the plugs have boon found, th'e air pressure
shall be used Io determine the time lapse required for the air pressure to drop to 2.5 psi gauge.
tf lbo time lapse required for the air pressure to decrease from 3.5 to 2.5 psi exceeds that shown in
the Iollowing table, the pipe shall be presumed to be within acceptable limits for leakage:
~! me lime lapsed is less than that shown in the table, the contractor shall make corrections to
reduce Ihe leakage to acceptable limits.

MANHO!.W. VACUUM TEST REPORT
TEST PROCEDURE
Plug all manhole entrances maid exits other than the m~nhole
top access using suitably sized pneumatic or mechanical
pipeline plugs. Install the vacuum tester head assembly at
the top access of manhole. Attach vacuum pump to test head
and start pllm~. Open inlet/outlet ball valve and evacuate
the manhole to 10" Hg. (approximately negative 5PSIG, 0.3
bar) Close vacuum inlet/outlet ball valve and monitor
vacuum for specified test period.
