Dear Ken:
After researching the requirements of the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA),
KHA has confa'med that the referenced project is not exempt from the act, as
construction on the project began after April 1", 1994; therefore, the project
must be registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
(TDLR) for compliance with the ABA. Enclosed please find the Project
Registration Form, along with a set of plans and specifications to be sent to the
TDLR. As the engineer with overall design responsibility for the project is no
longer with our firm, please sign Block 21 of the form as the designated agent
of the project owner. This is also necessary since the MacArthur Boulevard
intersection was added to the project, which Kimley-Horn did not design. The
City of Coppell will need to enclose a check for the review fee in the amount of
$575.00 made payable to "Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation."
After the project has been reviewed, and upon completion of the project
construction, the City of Coppell will need to request a project inspection and
send in a check for the inspection fee in the amount of $575.00. I will be
happy to address any corrm~ents when the review letter is received. Please do
