Barrier Fmc Ramps I~sue Resolution
Dear Mr. Cniffin;
Pursuant to our conversatSons regarding the barrier free ramps and accessible mutes on this project, we
are attaching our proposed list of resolutions for each of the items as addressed2
Wc have gcmeratod ora- li~t based on the list that you had provid~l to Acccssology, Inc. In general, we
have proposed thc following:
1. 4.7 Curb Ramps (4.72 Slol~): Ess,ntiaily, we propo~ to remove and reconstruct barrier free
ramps delineated in thc report as 6eficient at no charge to the City. We believe the newly-
constructed walks leading to thc barrier free ramps arc built within contract tolerances, and as
such, should be paid for at the contract unit price for sidewalk. We will perform the sawcutting
and removal at our expense.
2. 4.7 Curb Ramps (4.7.4 Surface): We have proposed to stain ramps where the lack of con~:asting
color is arn issue. This would be at an agreed-upon price and would be extra work. We have
proposed pricing for those items within LI~ r~olution chart.
3. 4,3 Accessible Route (4.3.7 Slooc): For the acce~ible routes, there are several proposed
resolulions, each specific to the loc~tion at issue and better described within thc chart attached. It '
does appear that the accessible routes issues are more related to design of the facility with regards
to accommodating existing cons~'uction constraints. We believe that ~cse issues would not fall
w/thin our area of respons~ility.
4. 4.27.2 Clear Floor Space: As it does not appear that thc clear fioor space is delineated within the
construction drawings, we have proposed to construct those areas atl thc contract unit price for
sidewalk, as extra work.
We propose to begin the items of work delineated in Item I immediately upon!your approval, lterns 2 and
4 can begin upon written direction from your office to proceed.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
E~I.I, COMPANY
