RE:
Sandy Lake Road Project #ST 93-01
Parcels 19 and 19SE, 21-1, 21-1SE, 21-2, 21-2SE
Dear Mr. Gray:
This letter is written as a follow-up to several past letters concerning the acquisition of necessary
fight-of-way for the widening of Sandy kake Road, east of MacArthur Blvd. Based on prior
conversations, it was my understanding that the dedication of the necessary fight-of-way and slope
easements were being held up due to the clearance issue associated with the transmission lines
crossing Sandy Lake Road. Based on a redesign of a portion of Sandy Lake Road, the City of
Coppell now has 23.5 feet clearance from Sandy Lake Road to the transmission wires. This more
than satisfies the minimum of 23 feet requested by Jon Scarborough of SE1 Consulting Engineers,
Inc.
The City of Coppell is still on a schedule to begin construction on this project in June 2004. As of
this date, the dedication of the right-of-way by TXU is the only outstanding right-of-way issue
along Sandy Lake Road.
We have just recently held a utility meeting with all utility companies concerning relocations and
the lack of all necessary right-of-way along Sandy Lake Road is impeding some relocation efforts.
Any help you can provide in expediting the dedication of the right-of-way and slope easements
from TXU to the City of Coppell will be greatly appreciated.
If you should have any questions or need any additional information please feel free to contact me
at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
