Dear Mr. Webber:
I am writing this letter to inform you of a problem that has affected my property
as a result of the Sandy Lake Road con~n. I live in Chaucer Estates and
my home backs up to Sandy Lake Road. Ny home is the 3~ house to the west
of Heartz Road.
My backyard is the lowest po~ in that block. Your company has placed the_,;~
drain behind the home of my next d°or neighbor to the east. Reaching th~
drain would require water to flow uphill. Currently water is standing lin my back
yard and has accumulated. My wood fence is rotting, 9 of my red Up fol~nia
bushes am drowning (1 has already died and another will die anyj;lay now), and
the wrought iron fence behind my home is under water. ! have photographs and
am happy to share them with you.~,
Approximately one month ago I placed a call to the t~lephone number listed on
your sign at Sandy Lake & Denton Tap. This number is a pager ~mber and a
gentleman returned my call. ! explained the problem to him and_~jJndicated he
would take care of it. Nothing has been done to remedy this ~.
As I see it, one of two things needs to occur. The first is~jreat deal of dirt
needs to be added to the area behind my home. If we ..gll~ls mute, my wood
fence will be under dirt, the fotenla bushes will suffocal~ ~ all 9 of them will
need to be replaced, and the iron fence will also be under dlrt"(unless we raise a
section of it). The second option is to relocate the drain so that'it is behind my
house and not the neighbor's. This might require altering the iron fence. My
guess is that having the drain relocated will take a little while and in that case
the standing water will drown my fotenlas and they will all need b0 be replaced.
They are large and I have had a replacement estimate of $150 per bush.
In addrdon, it is possible that we will be putting our home on the market b~is
spring. These problems MUST be resolved prior to listing our home for obvious
