Please do not proceed with any work activities (particularly grading or paving) until you can assess the damage in our right-of-way and easements. Additionally, prior to any paving activity taking place, verification will be required that the lime content of the subgrade meets the specifications in our Subdivision Ordinance. It was observed in the field that lime was placed deeper and wider than necessary. I urge you to contact this office at your earliest opportunity to set up a meeting with representatives of the Engineering Dept. to discuss the apparent problems and their timely resolution. Sincerely, , Construction Inspector Office Phone: (972) 304-3684 Fax: (972) 304-3570 Attachment - letter of 2/18/05 Keith R. Marvin, P.E. Rose Rose Development 410 Spinnaker Drive Allen TX 75013 RE: Riverchase Townhomes Site Visit Dear Mr. Rose: A site visit was conducted on February 17, 2005 at 10:15 a.m. I observed the lime crew in the process of shaping the roadway, preparing for the application of lime to the subgrade. There was no visible means of verifying the proposed subgrade elevations onsite. As you are well aware by referring to the approved Construction Plans, there are critical grade areas inside the proposed roadway bed, i.e. the storm drain crossing, the sanitary sewer main and sanitary sewer services. My concem has been and is still the verification of subgrade elevations over those services te prevent any damage from occurring. From my site visit today, it would appear there is a good possibility that damage may have occurred in some storm drain locations and possibly to some of the sanitary sewer facilities on the east end of the project. My recommendation, once again, is that you verify all the horizontal and vertical controls on the project, and verify the extent of damages, if any before proceeding to paving operations. Please call me if there is any question about how to perform the needed verifications. Construction Inspector Office Phone: (972) 304-3684 Fax: (972) 304-3570 CC: Keith R. Marvin, P.E.
