City standards call for DR-14, class 200 PVC pipe. We'll stick with that. 2. Lets keep the 6" blow off. In my opinion the plans have enough detail for that installation that we need not develop another standard detail. 3. Nobody in this department has received a copy of Addendum No. 1. Did it go out? Has our purchasing department received one? Please advise, and send a copy for our records. Thanks, Keith R. Marvin, P.E. City of Coppell (972) 304-7044 kmarvin@ci.coppell.tx.us >>> "Doug Showers" <DShowers@BHCLLP.COM> 3/14/2005 10:24:34 AM >>> Good Morning Ken and Keith, 1. Regarding the PVC pipe spec. I am told bythe suppliers that Coppell in the past has normally spec's DR-18 for 12-inch PVC. We have spe¢'d DR-14 and when I asked Larry the question last Thursday he confirmed that the City wants the 200 psi DR-14 rather than the 150 psi DR-18. This will affect the cost of the PVC pipe. PLEASE ADVISE THE CITY'S POSITION ON THIS. 2. Regarding the Blow Off Valve. The detail that Scott sent to me (4110) refers to a 2-inch blow off pipe rather than the 6-inch that we have specified. I understand that at the 12-inch water line size either blow off is utilized. Do you want us to stay with the 6-inch or revise to the 2-inch size and use detail 4110. If we stay with the 6-inch, is there an appropriate standard detail that we should include with the addendum. PLEASE ADVISE THE CITY'S POSITION ON THIS. I will await your response as we prepare ADDENDUM #2. Thank you Doug Showers CC: Latta, Scott; Taylor, Suzan
