Fand G Safety and Versatility IND£ECO's ULTRA-SAFETM Explosion-proof Unit Heater product line is designed with both safety and versatility in mind. Unique ULTRA-SAFETM construction features include: · Industry's Lowest Ignition Temperature Code Rating: T3C, 320°F (160°C) · Group C Rating · Redundant Overtemperature Protection: Dual automatic reset thermal cutouts for additional safety. · Nontoxic Propy[ene Glycol Heat Transfer Fluid: Other heat exchanger designs use toxic ethylene g~ycol as their standard heat transfer fluid. · Low 70 PSIG Relief Valve Setting: This assures that in an emergency, the initial escaping vapor temperature remains below the 320°F (~.60°C) ignition temperature. Other heat exchanger designs are rated up to 200 psig that result in temperatures of 380°F (193°C). · More Options: INDEECO offers a wide variety of options and special features tn reduce the installed cost and meet your unique application requirements. Standard Construction Heat Exchanger- is an efficient liquid-to-air design utilizing a copper tube core with integral a[uminum fins. Industria[ grade IND£ECO heating elements are immersed in a nontoxic, inhibited, propytene glycol heat transfer fluid that provides freeze protection down to -49°F (-45%). The heat exchanger is hydrostatically tested at 350 psig. A pressure relief valve provides excess pressure protection and is set at 70 psig. Standard Fan Motor Assembly- consists of an explosion-proof motor fitted with an aluminum fan blade. The motor has double* shielded, permanently lubricated ball bearings and automatic reset line breaking thermal overload protection. Motors furnished on standard units operate at line voltage and are prewired to the control enclosure so separate field wiring to the motor is not required. The standard motor is rated for Class I, Groups C and D, Class II, Groups F and G. The minimum operating temperature is -'14°F (-25°0 and the minimum storage temperature is -49°F (-45°C). Optional motor ratings are described on page 7. Cabinet/Louvers - are an industrial grade, corrosion resistant construction fabricated from powder coated ~.4 gauge steel. The adiustable louvers have minimum opening safety stops. Controls - are factory mounted on the unit heater. Standard built-in controls include dual (redundant) automatic reset overtemper- ature cutouts, controlling magnetic contactor, 24 Volt control circuit transformer and incoming power terminal blocks. Explosion-proof Unit Heater Assembly Stock Control Options i~ ~Iop :: ~ / Oescr pttoh Code Factory installed and prewired to the control enclosure. Adjustable Thermostat T Thermostat is adjustable from 50° to 90°F (~.0° to 30°C) range. Factory installed on the unit heater beside the control enclosure. Disconnect Switch This is an inexpensive and positive way to meet NEC/CEC requirements D for a disconnecting means within sight of the heater. A two-position switch wired to the control circuit for auto (automatic Auto/Fan heat) and fan only control. This selector switch cannot be provided S Selector Switch if option Code M is also specified. Manual Reset This can be added to the built-in control package for triple N Thermal Cutout overtemperature protection. This provides both triple overtemperature protection and a Manual Reset completely independent safety system since the backup contactor M Thermal Cutout with is only controlled by the manual reset cutout. This option cannot Backup Contactor be provided if option Code S is also specified. "Heater On" Pilot Light Indicates when the electric heating elements are energized. L Indicates when the thermal cutouts have tripped and the unit heater K "Warning" Pilot Light needs servicing. This can be provided when required for special external V 120 Volt Control Circuit thermostat circuit. Custom Options · Epoxy-coated them-duty motor, which has passed the ASTM 8117 salt-spray test and is rated for outdoor use. · Corrosion resistant iddite-coated heat exchanger. Epoxy-coated fan blade, terminal box, and wiring conduit/fittings. Dirty Duty Corrosion Resistant Construction · Stainless steel hardware. C · NEMA 4X, 7, 9 (outdoor/corrosion resistant) terminal box. Epoxy- coated built-on thermostat, disconnect switch, and selector switch options can also be supplied for corrosion resistant applications, but these built-on controls are not rated for outdoor use. 50 Hz Motor Optional motors for international requirements. H Available for locations classified as hazardous due to the Group E (Metal Dust) presence of metal dust. The motor and heater wilt be rated for E Construction Classes I and II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups D, E, F and G, ignition temperature code T3C, 320 F (160 C).
