Dear Mr. Barrow:
Per our meeting on March 18, 2005, your request is approved to weld manholes servicing
the USPS private sewer system closed. This approval is given under the condition that
the manholes in the public easement are not to be welded shut. We also recommend that
precautions be taken to vent the manholes properly prior to welding to minimize the
possibility of a methane gas leak resulting in injury or damage.
