Gas Line bored into 4-6-05
There wa~zon contractor, McBride, that bored into our 3" poly
,~ main on(Newton~between Halifax and Forest Ridge on Wednesday, 4-6-05.
.... ~j;~,'~r'he bore contractor did not have locates for his company. The McBride
~ foreman told me that they had tried to pothole the main prior to boring
'- and that they had called in locates and had even called in a refresh
ticket to Dig TESS. However, the Dig TESS confirmation number that he
gave us belonged to another contractor, not McBride. Also, the
homeowner at the residence in which this line was hit happened to be
watching them bore. He told Jeff Brown, Atmos crew foreman, that
McBride did not pothole the gas main until after the gas was blowing.
I am concerned that this contractor is working around utilities without
locates. We had four fire trucks tied up for over three hours until we
had the gas shut down.
If I can be of any assistance please let me know.
