The existing design requires lowering the entire li~it of 10, 160LF at a cost of $2.6 M. due to
paving, drainage and streetlight foundation conflicts.
The original 7 section lowerings of 5,370 LF, based on the proj .ec~. report dated 7/21/94 -[was to
account for paving and drainage conflict, however requiring a mmlmum COVer Of 8 FT. dlle to
the standard air valve design.
NOTES AND ASSUMPTIONS:
PAVING:
1.. The 6 section lowerings are at the following station (Paving Conflicts):
1.1 8+75 to 12+25 = 350LF
20+50 - New air valve installation to replace the existing AN
1.2 29+25 to 33+50 = 425LF
43+00 New air valve In-qallation to replace the existing AN
1.3 68+50 to 74+40 = 590LF
1.4'79+25 tO 86+50 = 725LF
1.5 95+00 tO 100+00 = 500LF
1.6 100+90 to 108+00 = 710LF
Total = 3,300 LF ~ $343/LF, consisting of 17 bid items based on current pricez

2. The shutdown period estimate was based on factfin~ conversations with Johnson Brothers,
Bar Contractors, in-house design and construction personnel and a meeting with Distribution
Division. Reference attached memo to M, Richman
and 71+00. The new A/V system each will cost $16,000. incl. 2 manholes..
New air valves will be installed at stm 10+50, 20+50 (re-install), 33+00, 43+00(re-install),
4. A new configuration for the Air Valve system will be utilized to minimiTe cover req~
to only 3.8 Ft. This Air Valve design was first installed in the Denton/Rossford project
ex. 66" main in 1997.
5. Prior to fie-in, a total of 200,000 gal. dewatering will be accomplished with the inst~
of blow-off valves at low points. Note: Do not use greater, than 1300 GPM discharge
pump.
