WA9701-CS050418COPP-ELL April 18, 2005 First Baptist Church of Coppell P.O. Box 109 Coppell, Texas 75019-0109 Denton Tap Road 16-Inch Water Line (Bethel Road to Airline Drive) WA 97-01 Letter of Permission Dear Sir: The City of Coppell intends to construct the Denton Tap Road 16-Inch Water Line project. Construction of this segment of water line will satisfy the city's requirement for water circulation and supply as determined by the Water System Master Plan. The project basically consists of the installation of +- 4000 linear feet of 16-inch water line within the median and the west right-of-way of Denton Tap Road. The existing 8-inch cast iron water line located under the west edge of Denton Tap Road was constructed in 1967 and will be taken out of service upon completion of this project due to its age and potential for problems. The First Baptist Church of Coppell owns a 20-acre parcel located at 700 Denton Tap Road. The new 16-inch water line will be installed in the median in this area. In order to provide fire protection and future water service to this parcel, it will be necessary to install four 8-inch water lines across the southbound lanes of Denton Tap Road. The 8- inch water lines will come off of the new 16-inch line and extend to the west right-of-way line and be plugged. Three new fire hydrants, along with one existing fire hydrant will be connected to the new lines within the limits of the right-of-way. Future development of your property will have the option of connecting to the 8-inch water lines within the limits of your parcel. The 8-inch water lines will be installed by a method other than open cut so that existing concrete pavement will not have to be removed and replaced, and traffic will not be impacted. Methods that can be used to install the pipe include boring, tunneling, and directional drilling. Each of these methods requires two large pits in which to launch and retrieve the pipe. There is a city owned 20-foot sanitary sewer and slope easement on your parcel that is contiguous with the west right-of-way/east property line. The city needs to utilize this easement as well as additional area beyond this easement for construction and utilization of four + 15' x 40' pits. CI.0PPEL/. Ig$5.~2.005 The city is aware that livestock is currently on the property and will require the contractor to take measures to protect the livestock. Attached please find a Letter of Permission that will grant the city permission to enter your property for the construction of four pits and the installation of four 8-inch water lines. The city respectfully requests your execution and return of the letter to this office.
