The existin~ design calls for lowering the entire limit of 10, 160LF at a cost of S2e6 M. due to
pavin~ drainage and streetlilg~t foundation conflicts.
The original 7 section lowerings of 5,370 LF, based on the project report dated 7/21/94 was to
account for pavin~ and drainage conflict, however requiring a minimum cover requirement of 8
FT. due to the standard air valve design.

3. New air valves will be installed at stn. 10+50, 20+50 (re-install), 33+00, 43+00(re-install),
and 71+00. The new A/V system each will cost $16,000. inol. 2 manholes..
4. A new configuration for the Air Valve' system will be utilized to minimize cover ~
to only 3.8 Ft. This Air Valve design was first installed in the Denton/Rossford project on the
ex. 66" main in 1997. ,
5. Prior to fie-in, a total of 200,000 gal. dewatefing will be accon~lished with the iustall~on
of blow-off valves at low points. Note: Do not use greater than 1300 GPM d~ fOr the
pump. ·
6. Two existing air valves not included in the lowerings will be re-installed using the new A/V
design.

STREET LIGHT FOUNDATIONS:
The proposed street lisht 24' drilled sha~ approximately 8 Ft. deep are in cxmfliot at 27 different
locations from sta. 7+23 to 94+65 which is almost the entire limit of this project. However, 8 of
these conflicts will be cleared in conjunction with the 6 lowerings in item #1, leaving only 19
conflicts to be cleared.
Estimated Cost: $620/LF per relocation of 35LF each
GENERAL NOTES:
1. Special Provisions will be included to protect the existing main from heavy equipments dugn8
p'adin8 operations, l~nlmum 2.0~t. cover will be ~ to not allow total ext. load capsc~
to exceed 660(O/ft. Sheepsfoot rollers will not be permitted; skid boards will be installed to
distn'oute the load, etc.
