Re' Sandy Lake Road
As discussed with you in our meeting of December 18, 1997, at this point we are to fund the
construction cost of relocating the existing 30' water main in order to accommodate the Sandy
Lake Road project. Our current construction estimate is $2.6 Million for the 10,165 LF
bar wrapped concrete cylinder pipe.
Concerning the engineering fee of $165,000 we reg,-ct that we can not help defray the cost based
on previous commitments that the City of Coppell include this in its existing contract with Kimley
Horn And Associates. Attached is a copy of the minutes of the meeting dated January 6, 1994 and
a chronology of events regarding this project. Please note that the existing water main is in
cxc, ellent condition and that the relocation was driven by paving cuts and cotdticts with the street
light foundations throughout the entire limits of the project, thus necessitating thc relocation to
accommodate Coppelrs paving and drainage improvements.
Our current review of 100% plans submitted by Kimley Horn has b~n c, omplcted. Wc will be
furnishing you the specifications as soon a~ we obtain approval of the ][LA for our joint contract
venture. Please provide us with the latest draR of the ILA for our review and we will coordinate
with the City Attorneys'office for their review.
