West Sandy Lake Rd. Project # ST 99-02 / Siren Location
This memo is a follow-up to our conversation concerning the placement of the siren. As you know, I
recently met with representatives of Coppell Bible Fellowship Chumh to discuss the relocation of the
current siren along West Sandy Lake Road, near Coppell Road. Attached to this memo is an exhibit
showing the preferred locations according to representatives of the church.
Option 1 - the placement of the siren on top of the proposed 60' concrete TXU pole at the northeast
comer of their property.
Option 2 - a stand-alone pole in the same location.
Option 3 - a stand-alone pole at the southeast comer of the church property.
Option 4 - the placement of the siren on top of the proposed traffic signal pole.
Option 5 - a stand-alone pole at the intersection of Freeport Pkwy. and Sandy Lake Rd., or the
northwest comer of the church property.
Also, on the exhibit I have superimposed the other items that are proposed along this section of Sandy
Lake Rd. You may notice that in addition to the 60' concrete pole, TXU is proposing three 50'
wooden poles, one electric box, and a guy wire at the northwest comer of the church property. The city
is proposing a traffic pole, along with a traffic controller box and a fire hydrant, also at the northwest
comer of the church property.
Please review this exhibit and confirm that the relocation of the siren needs to be at the northwest
comer of the church property. I will then convey that information to the church and start the process of
obtaining the necessary easement that we need from the church. The necessary easement is shown in
yellow on the exhibit.
During my meeting with the church representatives, they were unaware of the four TXU poles that
would be adjacent to their property and the traffic pole. So therefore, they may be less resistant to the
placement of the siren. But, again the preferred options are laid out as previously noted and shown in
the exhibit. Thank you for your consideration of this request and I look forward to hearing from you in
the near future.
