November 17, 1998 P:\93021.00~93021LTR\NO¥98MTG.DOC Notes, A~tion Items from Sandy Lake Rq~leeting - 111t7/98 - Contractor will have approximately 2000' of RCP in place by end of week of 11/16/98 - All but one small truckload of 16" PVC has been delivered - Ed Bell will notify all subcontractors that City is no providing for any access to private property and will assume no responsibility for such access - Contractor has encountered two 8" water service lines that conflict with storm drain installation - Kimley-Hom believes contract allows for service relocations as part of the 8" pay item - Kimley-Horn will examine the verbage in the contract more closely - Contractor does not believe that the contract covers relocates because it is not spelled out in contract - All "private" drains currently emptying into drainage ditch needs to be connected into new storm drain line - Ed Bell will provide lump sum estimate from R.O.W. to drain and an altemate price for cleanouts - Contractor has had 2 to 3 problems with non-located gas sercies on north side, dug up two 2" services - Need to assume that all services are live and LSG will try to coordinate better on locates - Submittal for concrete design seems okay, K-H will examine closely - Submittals for vault does not meet City requirements - Submittal for fire hydrant will be examined as "approved equal" - Contractor will submit 16" phasing schedule to K-H - 30" WL Submittals (Gifford Hill) have been approved - Need to set up meeting soon with TU Electric regarding conflicting information on pole relocate - Contractor agrees to City's desire to have all trees removed at once; City will mark trees this week, to meet at 8:30 am Friday 11/20 - Project office will be installed (trailer is ready) as soon as site is agreed to by TU Electric; delivered copy of letter from Jim Witt - 16" Water line issues - Will not lower first section (8+10) or section at Moore Rd. (54+07) - City is checking depth of existing WL at 41+83 and 71+30, will get final decision on these sections to contractor within 1 week - Contractor will provide cost estimate for removing/restocking 16" PVC - Contractor bid project on basis of making all service taps while line was dead; this is not the intent of the contract/plans - Contractor will get estimate of price difference between wet and dry tap from Gifford Hill - K-H will count taps east and west of Moore in case the east section is ductile iron - Idea thrown out to construct 30" concrete cylinder pipe first, bring services off of it while constructing 16", then switch over to 16" - Issue is that City is responsible for providing service during lowering, not for accommodating d~y taps on 16" - Point made that tapping sleeves would not have been specified if dry taps were expected - K-H will contact Giffor Hill regarding "temporary" tapping connections off of concrete cylinder pipe - 21" storm drain realignment - Contractor indicates that the manhole is mislocated on plans laterally - Contractor has been working further west than expected, but does not see a problem with adjusting line - K-H will verify location of manhole in the field - 66" will be replaced with a box culvert to give adequate clearance for 16" gas main - Contractor will look at costs of different transition options - Project signs will be installed before Thanksgiving - Contractors basically shut down between Christmas and New Year due to laborer shortage · Next meeting: December 15th Project; Date: Time: CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS MONTHLY PROGRESS MEETING AGENDA Sandy Lake Road Paving, Drainage, and Water System Improvements November 17, 1998 10:00 AM REVIEW PROGRESS OF WORK A.
