Subject: Excavation Shoring
Dear Mr. Griffin,
Can-Far Construotion Company has pulled of this jobsite. Can-Far Construction Company
shoring system had a failure on March 1 ?, 2005 and we consulted our design engineer and he
has advlca ua to halt all shoring working until Mastec has completed there work in this area. He
staled that weight of Masteo's equipment is putting a surge load on the excavation and the
shoring system was not design for this extra load. Also our shoring engineer believes that
Mastec's equipment is causing vibration that is affecting the shoring. Can-Far Construction
Company informed you in our letter dated March 1, 2005 that this situation was never discussed
during the blddthg process and there this is the reason that our shoring system has no provisions
for this situation. In addition to the existing*shoring problem our production has been negatively
affect, by limiting our access to the excavati°n from only one side. Can-Far Construction
Company requests a meeting to resolve these issues.
Sincerely,
Todd C Heft
