Re:
Coppell Sand Lake Road
DW 30" WL Relocation
KHA No. 06940601
Dear Jun:
We must schedule a time in the next six months to re-evaluate the construction sequence of
events associated with relocating portions of the line. Much time has passed since our last
meeting with the affected parties. The Contractor plans to begin work in September 1999
and finish about September 2000. This provides ample opportunity for sufficient changes
in operating conditions to require a modification to construction sequencing.
Also of paramount concern is Flower Mound's water demand. They cannot do without
Dallas water during the summer and with recent growth we must re-evaluate their ability to
meet off-season demands without Dallas' supply.
If the water line relocation can be accomplished during a time when Flower Mound does
not require Dallas water, then the original proposed sequence of construction can proceed.
If not, then we must develop an alternative method. Ken Griffin has indicated that
dedicating the new Coppell 30' water line for use by DWU during this time may be a
feasible option.
I will be contacting the City of Flower Mound and the Upper Trinity Regional Water
District to arrange a meeting with us during the first quarter of 1999. Please let me know
of any others that should be invited and of any key issues that we must consider.
Yours truly,
