Dear Mr. Weber:
I have reviewed the questions raised by Mr. Alford Main of M-Co
Construction, Inc. in his letter dated September 30, 1998 (see attachment) and
have the following response:
1. The 16" Coppell water line will be constructed of PVC as indicated in the
specifications. No DIP shall be used for this water line.
The valve in question is an existing valve (see legend in plans). I believe
that this valve is on the lead to the existing fire hydrant, rather than on the
existing 16" water line; however, we request that you field verify this
during construction. If the valve is on the existing 16" water line, the City
of Coppell may require a valve to be installed on the proposed 16" water
line at the same location.
3. The 8" water line at Station 55+46 shall connect to the proposed 16" water
line.
I am currently communicating with Mr. Jun Battad of Dallas Water Utilities
to clarify the sizing requirements of the air release valve at Station 70+79
of the 30" DWU water line. I will contact you as soon as this issue is
resolved.
At Station 17+45, the fire hydrant should be connected to the proposed
section of 8" water line by the use of a 8"x8"x6" tee and a 6" gate valve.
Please see the enclosed sketch.
I apologize for any inconvenience that these issues may have caused. In our
last telephone conversation, you mentioned that M-Co had a second set of

questions, but I have not yet received them. Please fax a copy of that set to me
at your earliest convenience.
I am currently reviewing your request for M-Co to begin construction in
several areas. I anticipate that M-Co will not be permitted to begin in at least
one of those areas, but I expect to allow construction to proceed in the three
areas which do not affect the storm sewers near the intersection of Moore Road
and Sandy Lake Road. I will contact you as soon as I have finished my review.
I am also currently reviewing submittals forwarded by you from M-Co
Construction. Henceforth, please send all submittals/shop drawings directly to
me for review. I will distribute the submittals as appropriate after my review is
complete.
A copy of the City of Coppell's project sign requirements is enclosed for your
use. The completion date should be listed as Spring/2001. The project name
and number should be listed as Sandy Lake Rd. (ST 93-02). The City Inspector
for this project has not yet been identified, but I will contact you with this
information as soon as it becomes available.
Very truly yours,

Re: Sandy Lake Rd. / Project # ST-9302
Dear Robert,
These are a few questions I need answers to:
(1) Plans call for 16" D.I.P.. The pay item is for PVC. Is it PVC?
(2) Plans show symbol for valve on 16" line at station 9+52. Is there a valve?
(3) At station 55+46 there appears to be a 8" water line going south. Does this line connect
to the 16" main?
(4) At station 70+79 the profile shows 3" air release and above that it shows 6". There is a pay
item for 6" but it does not seem right for a 30" Main line. Which is it?
(5)
At station 17+45 - is thisla 8,.main with a 6" valve and lead to fi!~ehydmnt:or.a 8" valve and
lead with a reducer at tlie fire hydrant? · ...... "'
