Brick Paver Replacement Project
All,
I am sending this email at the request of Deputy Chief Tim Oates to update you on a project that is
currently underway on MacArthur Boulevard. The project is to replace the bands of brick pavers at most
of the intersections along MacArthur from Riverchase drive to Samuel Boulevard.
During the March 8, 2005 City Council meeting the Engineering Department requested, and was granted,
permission to close one lane in each direction along MacArthur Blvd. for the completion of this project.
Therefore for the duration of the project you may find MacArthur restricted to one lane in various locations.
The project is expected to be completed prior to the start of the school year on August 15, 2005.
in addition to the lane closures along MacArthur, the following side streets will be impacted:
Riverchase Drive - Portions of the street will be blocked during construction, however the intent is to
maintain two way traffic at all times.
Bethel School Road - During construction at this intersection the street will be closed to all traffic for a
period of appi:oximately three weeks. All traffic will be directed to Condor Drive as an alternate route.
Condor Drive - During construction at this intersection the street will be closed to all traffic for a period of
approximately three weeks. All traffic will be directed to Bethel School Road as an alternate route. The
intersections of Bethel School and Condor Drive will not be closed at the same time.
Village Parkway South - During construction at this intersection the street will be closed to all traffic for a
period of approximately three weeks. All traffic will be directed to Village Parkway North as an alternate
route.
Parkway Boulevard - Portions of the street will be blocked during construction, however the intent is to
maintain two way traffic at all times.
Village Parkway North - During construction at this intersection the street will be closed to all traffic for a
period of approximately three weeks. All traffic will be directed to Village Parkway South as an alternate
route. The intersections of Village Parkway North and Village Parkway South will not be closed at the
same time.
Samuel Boulevard - Portions of the street will be blocked during construction, however the intent is to
maintain two way traffic at all times.
Village (across from Samuel) - During construction at this intersection the street will be closed to all
traffic for a period of approximately three weeks. All traffic will be directed to Lake Forest or Deforest as
an alternate route.
I will notify you in advance of any future restrictions and or closures at these intersections, as well as notify
you when the restrictions have been lifted.
Currently Village Parkway South, and Village (across from Samuel) are closed to ail traffic. Portions of
Samuel are blocked, however two way access is provided.
The contractor has informed us that Parkway will be restricted beginning on Friday, Condor will be
closed on Monday, and the other half of the driveway at Station Two will be closed on Wednesday.
If you need any additional information, please feel free to call Rick O'Dell, the inspector for the project, or
myself.
