Dear Mr. Morris,
We purchased the aforementioned house from John Moore of Westchester Homes on
March 31, 1994. Since then, I have tried to get this builder to repair a number of flaws
related to the construction of the house. The most critical issue, however, relates to the
ongoing collapse of the ground behind my home. This is translating into the gradual
structural failure of the slab foundation and framing of the house. Mr. Moore (817-481-
7750 ext. 108) has chosen not to return my calls or answer my letters (enclosed).
Regarding the slope failure behind my home, I have also spoken with or have tried to
contact the following:
4/10 Met with Ken Griffin/City Engineer of Coppell (214-304-3679) at the subject
property (letter enclosed).
I have tried to reach Stephen Brooks of Grand Homes (214-750-6528), the land
developer, and to date have not spoken with him or anyone else in his office.
4/12 I spoke with Pat Atkins of Tipton Engineering (214-226-2967), the engineering
firm that assisted Mr. Brooks in the development of the land, and he is suppose to get
back to me regarding a meeting to be scheduled for next week.
4/12 I spoke with Ron Reed of Reed Engineering (214-350-5600), the geotechnical
engineer who signed offon the soil compaction results of this land development. He is
scheduled to meet with me at my house this Friday 4/14.
4/7, 10&l 1 I have either spoken with or sent letter (enclosed) to Bridget Booth of 2-
10 Home Buyers Warranty (303-368-5204 ext. 212) who insures the structural
integrity of the house.
4/13 I will mail a complaint to Attorney General Dan Morales of the Consumer
Protection Division (214-742-8944).
4/13 I will mail a complaint to the Home & Apartment Builders Association (214-
631-4840).
