Project # ST 97-03
Dear Mr. Murphy:
As was discussed at the pre-construction meeting and which language is also included in the
specifications for the project in Section 4, Page 5, paragraph 1.14,
"The Contractor shall have on the project at all times, as his agent, a competent
Superintendent capable of reading the plans and specifications and thoroughly
experienced in the type of work being performed. The Superintendent shall have
full authority to execute orders or directions and to promptly supply such
materials, equipment, tools, labor and incidentals as may be required. Such
superintendence shall be furnished irrespective of the amount of work contracted.
The Superintendent and the Contractor shall be responsible for supervision of all
work performed by the subcontractor at all times during construction."
It has been observed that this specification is not being adhered to as per the contract. The
City of Coppell expects JRJ Paving to provide a competent and qualified
superintendent who can oversee the work being done at all times. The situation will be
monitored by myself and others beginning next week to insure compliance to contract
specifications. If you have any questions or need any additional information please feel free
to contact me at (972) 304-7090.
