51eeve: Body-fuU circumference band. 18-8 t3,pe 304 stainless steel. Flange-AWWA
C207 Class D ANSI, 150 lb. Drilling. Epoxy coated finish, on 664. 18-8 type 304 stai~xless steel
flange on 665. Gasket-Grade 60-compounded to resist-oil, alkalies, mo,~t (aliphatic)
hydro-carbon fluids, water & many chemicals. Temperatures u,p to 212°F. Bolts & Nuts-18-8
type 304 stainless steel heavy, hex nuts, bolts & washers. Nuts are Teflon coated to prevent
galling.
Valve Body: Consists of a DOM tubing homing with flange made o£ ASTMA-36 steel. The
end plate and bearing, seal housing i,s made of ASTM A-36 steel. Assembly coated with 10-12
mils. of epoxy coating.
Valve Plug: Made of variable durometer synthetic uzethane designed to ~eal with a minimal
amount of pressure applied by a mechanical threaded shaft and nut mechard,~m. Valve stem
and nut are in accordance with AWWA C-500-80, section 3.12, with o-ring seals on shaft.
Gear Bo~: Reduction Gear Box designed for maximtun torque and dependability. Gears
made ~rom a .20 carbon steel case, hardened for increased wear resistance, durable surface
and a higher strength core.
Installation; Done in one single tapping operation in a minimal amount oi: time. h~tailation
cart be accompJL~hed in an excavated area approximately 5' x 8'.
Statement: The IVS is designed to be i-~talled with a mmm~al amount of excavation, at
the same time giving a mechanically operated valve with ordv one sleeve, one tap under
pressure in a minimal amount of time.

SOME COMMON QLIESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Does this valve meet th~ AWW'A valve specification?
A No, there is no AW'WA specification that covers the IVS. If it ever does have an
AWWA specification, it will I~ under a new cat~gory, separate f-rom the star~dard valve
specifications. The IV$ operating mechanism, the stem and nut, are standard and meet
AWWA requirements.
Will the IV$ always give a 100% seal?
A We don't guarantee a 100% seal. Our installations thus far have given a 100% seal.
We do guarantee a seal that will allow work to be accomplished on yvur line.
