Denton County will be requesting funding for the State Highway 121 Bypass and Farm-to-Market Road 2499. As you know, the Texas Transportation Commission is the three- member panel appointed by the governor which has the final say on more than $20 billion in transportation project allocations during the next 10 years. These three Commission members have very strong and lasting impressions of Denton County as all three have had a first-hand look at our transportation needs and challenges. In the past, Denton County has always been well represented in Austin by its cities and chambers at these meetings. I hope this to be the case once again. The Commissioners Court is requesting that you adopt a resolution in support of Denton County's July 28 presentation. Enclosed is a sample copy resolution as well as a map of where the Transportation Commission meets in Austin. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. and Denton County is third on the agenda.
