Dear Mr. Witt:
The Texas Department of Transportation, Fort Worth, (TxDOT-FW) in conjunction with the North
Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is studying traffic congestion in the SH 114 and
SH 121 corridor near DFW Airport. Traffic modeling for present and future conditions wilI be
performed as part of an active Major Investment Study of this corridor.
In an effort to increase the accuracy of NCTCOG's traffic modeling program, unrecorded city
transportation network improvements until the year 2020 need to be verified and programmed before
the modeling process begins. Please review the attached transportation network maps for your
incorporated area titled "SH 114//SH121 MIS-1995 NETWORK" and "SH114//SH121 MIS-2020
NETWORK" for accuracy. Upon review please note any discrepancies of lane numbers, new routes,
and speed limits by writing on the map. Note that speed limits and lane numbers are indicated on the
map in each direction with a code. The code number 45045 indicates a 45 mph speed limit in each
direction. The code number 2002 indicates two lanes in each direction. Mail the corrected map to
TxDOT-FW attention Joe Atwood, P.E. The NCTCOG will confirm the revisions and enter the
updated information into the traffic model. This valuable information is not urgent in nature, but a
timely response of two months is reasonable. Without your input the quality of the transportation
modeling process will be compromised
