currently listed as a Long Range Project (LRP) in
the 1996 PDP. The Denton County portion is not.
The TxDOT Dallas District will request LRP status
for the Denton County portion in the 1997 PDP

Category 3A - N-HS Mobility.
The Dallas District requested in the 1995 PDP
update that authority be given to allow for State
participation in right-of-way acquisition up to $70
million on the section of S.H. 121 between S.H. 289
and U.S. 75. This was not included in the PDP
update; therefore, to show a commitment to the
project, local governments are obtaining right-of-
way donations to convince the TxDOT Commission to
fund the remaining right-of-way.
