1996 Project Development Plan
Priorit~ I is the authority for completion of PS&Es, utility
adjustments and construction (projects let to contract) Generally,
Priority 1 projects are the highest and best ranked projects that
have letting dates within the next three fiscal years Projects should
be assigned letting dates only in Priority I Districts should have
completed 75 percem of the design work and right-of-way
acquisition before moving fi-om Priority 2 to Priority 1 The
amount of projects in Priority I is constrained to three years of
anticipated available apportionments
1996 Project Development Plan
Priority 2 is authority for the preparation of plans, specifications
and estimates (PS&Es), and right-of-way acquisition During
Priority 2, project plans should be substantially complete
(geometric. structural, hydraulic, and pavement design approved by
TxDOT's Design Division) and a substantial amount of the required
right-of-way acquired Districts should establish a fiscal year for
construction contract award The amount of projects in Priority 2
is constrained to seven years of anticipated available
apportionments
Major Investment Studies are required under ISTEA All modes
are considered Only controlled access facilities have been required
for MIS to date A current list of Dallas District Projects requiring
MIS is included
Ready to go to contract when indicated under "Date Available for
Letting" and not funded in Project Development Plan during fiscal
