ST9904-CS 950124The City With A Beautiful Future P.O Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 214-462-0022 January 24, 1995 Mr. John Blain, P.E. TxDOT P.O. Box 3067 Dallas, Texas 75221-3067 RE: Freeport/Parkway connection to S.H. 121 Dear Mr. Blain: At the January 10, 1995 City Council meeting, the City Council authorized staff to proceed with initial discussions with TxDOT to determine the feasibility of revising the Freeport and Parkway connections to S.H. 121. In the past, the plans have shown both roadways connecting to S.H. 121. However, there appears to be limited benefits of ingress and egress to having both roadways connecting to S.H. 121. Recently, the City was contacted by representatives of Hunt Building Corporation concerning whether or not the City would be interested in having just Freeport connect with S.H. 121, with the possibility of a diamond interchange with Freeport and S.H. 121. The by product of this would be having Parkway intersect Freeport Blvd. not S.H. 121 (see attached map). The City of Coppell is interested in pursuing this, however, our most recent correspondence, indicates that there could be substamial cost to the City. The City of Coppell requests that TxDOT proceed with looking at this. However, we do request that additional information be presented to the City concerning the potential cost. The City is very much interested in seeing a diamond interchange at Freeport and S.H. 121. Prior to fully authorizing any redesign, the City would like preliminary cost information. If the City can provide any additional information please feel free to contact me at your convemence. Sincerely, Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
