Dear Mr. Cromer:
I am in receipt of your letter denying our request to install a fire hydrant and paved
parking spaces within the 50-foot gas easement for the above referenced site. Your
denial is based on protecting and keeping the pipeline safe; therefore, the owner has
requested that we make several design modifications to the plans to address your
concerns. The following revisions have been made:
· The fire hydrant has been relocated and the 6-inch water line remuted
outside of the easement.
· The three-inch domestic water service has been relocated and rerouted
outside of the easement.
· The paved parking will be at or near the existing ground elevation in order to
minimize grading in the easement.
· A 12-inch deep grade beam will be placed below the pavement at the edge
of the easement to mitigate the potential migration of any released gases
outside of the easement.
· An optional vent line can be installed under the pavement to vent any
released gas from under the pavement.
· The caution note will be modified to add Mr. Kyle ~Kelley as the point of
contact.
These revisions eliminate any conduit crossings, which could create a potential gas
migration pathway, and to ensure no improvement are installed over or across the gas
main. We are willing to make these modifications as a matter of consideration and
cooperation with Atmos; however, the owner is in no way relinquishing its rights under
the easement.
