Subject:
City of Coppell DeForest Road Lift Station Improvements
DeForest & Sandy Lake Wastewater Lift Stations
Project No. SS 99-01
Dear Mr. Griffin:
On Friday, June 24, 2005, Rob Osterman and I visited the DeForest Lift Station site to review the soil
samples collected from the bottom of the excavation with the testing laboratory (CMT). The soils
collected from the two borings completed by CMT appeared consistent with the soils from the boring
drilled by Terra-Mar in August 2001, which is presented in Terra Mar's Geotechnical investigation
report dated September 2001. This report is included as an appendix to the project construction
specifications.
The structural design of the new DeForest Lift Station was based on the findings presented in the
Terra Mar report. Due to the fact that the soil samples collected by CMT appear consistent with the
original geotechnical investigation results, construction of the DeForest Lift Station per the plans and
specifications is recommended.
Sincerely,
Erika K. Cooper, P.E.
Project Engineer
