This work shall consist of the removal and salvaging of existing fire hydrants and valves at locations shown in the plans and delivering them to Water Tower No. 2 at Wagon Wheel Park. The work shall be performed in accordance with the appropriate details and specifications. Removal includes all blocking and piping back to the existing main. Access to Water Tower No. 2 is immediately east of the intersection of Royal Lane and Northpoint Drive. Only fire hydrants salvaged in good condition and delivered to Water Tower No. 2 will be compensated under this pay item. Any fire hydrants or valves damaged during removal will not be paid for and shall he disposed of at the Contractor's expense. Out of the 10 fire hydrants, as we stand today 6 are new and 4 are relocated existing units. Please confirm that we should go ahead with relocating and/or re-using the existing fire hydrants rather than replacing them. Thank you Doug
