RE: ST 93-01 Sandy Lake Rd. Retaining Wall Design
Dear Mr. Caudill:
The City of Coppell has reviewed the designs for the segmental retaining walls (SRW)
No. I, No. 2, B, C and D to be installed on the referenced project. These designs are
approved as submitted.
I would caution you to pay particular attention to the special provisions of the submitted
design. The design engineer has assumed the existing subsurface conditions. Once de-
xvatering and excavation has taken place, the subsurface soil must be tested for
conformity with the design parameters. The design engineer must be advised of any
differences. Samples with supporting documentation must be submitted for the geogrid,
filter fabric, SRW units, select fill, TxDOT flexible base and screenings prior to their
incorporation into the structures. I would also recommend scheduling a meeting with the
wall contractor prior to construction.
