Amberpoint Drive
Page 1 ]
Good Morning Suzan,
I am concerned about the location of the drive closest to Freeport on the newest Amberpoint development
on the south side of Sandy Lake Road. Its location and proximity to the intersection may cause
undesirable traffic movements. First, with the right lane being a turn only lane at Freeport, the drive
location is in the entry area of that turn lane. This could cause excessive weaving movements and reduce
the efficiency of the intersection approach. Secondly, when Freeport extends to the north, it is possible
that vehicles could exit that drive and try to cross three lanes of traffic to enter the left turn lane. This
situation is certainly one to avoid if at all possible.
If it is possible to work with the developers to remove that drive, then it would alleviate any issues with that
intersection. Not knowing the status of this development, I am not sure if anything can be done regarding
this situation. I just wanted to make you aware of our concerns regarding the drive location.
On another note, did you receive the information on the illuminated signs? Also, I am still waiting on the
information regarding the A+B bidding from Addison.
Thanks and have a nice day.
