Message
Attached is an RFI from Can-Fer regarding the brick for the wall at the
DeForest Lift Station site.
The first question relates to the size of the brick. Apparently the brick for the
existing wall is 3"x10"; however, the brick manufacturer no longer makes brick
of this size. We would propose using the same size brick as for the control
building, as specified in Specification Section 04810.
The second question relates to the construction of the wall. The plans refer to
City of Coppell Standard Construction Details, Sheet SD8. According to
Can-Far, the existing wall at the DeForest Lift Station site does not match the
details shown on SD8. They are asking if the wall is to be constructed per the
details on SD8, or if il should match the construction of the existing wall.
Can-Far has indicated that their bid is based on the ~eteils on Sheet SDS.
Can-Far has suggested a meeting at the site to discuss these questions. This
would allow everyone to look at the existing wall (both construction and brick
size/color). Can-Far has several brick samples 0nsite that can als0 be
compared to the wall to select the best match. Please let me know who from
the City should be at this meeting, and I will work with you and Can-Far to set
up a meeting time_
