Marvin, P.E. City of Coppell Engineering Dept. 255 Parkway Blvd. Coppelk Texas 75019 Faxed & Mailed Re.' Billingsley Floodplain Reclamation, Coppell, Texas Rodman Excavation Submittal for Temporary Crossing of Grapevine Creek Dear Mr. Marvin: Enclosed is Rodman Excavation's submittal of the proposed temporary crossing of Grapevine Creek for your approval. As requested, we modeled the temporary crossing to evaluate the effect the crossing would have on the 100-year flood event. Based on a worst case scenario, the crossing was modeled assuming it would remain in place during the entire flood event. Under actual conditions, it is unlikely that the crossing would endure such an event. The results of the analysis indicate the crossing would cause negligible changes in the upstream and downstream water surface elevations. In addition to the method of placement and removal contained in the submittal, the temporary crossing shall meet the requirements contained in the Nationwide Permit (NVqP) 14 - "Linear Transportation Crossings". If you have any questions please call me at (214) 346-6244. Sincerely, HALFF ASSOCIATES, INC. Mark W. McGraw, P.E. McGraw, This letter's purpose is to summarize the necessary activities to construct a temporary creek crossing over Grapevine Creek at the ~equest of the land owners involved in the Hemingway Court (Irving side) and the future retail site (Copl~ell side) construction projects. Activities include but are not limd.ed to: :!.) Placement of 8' X 60' corrugated culvert into Grapevine Creek as marked on attached map. 2) Placement of fill material on top of the culvert compacted in lifts using a back-hoe and dozer, to the existing elevation of either side of the high bank of Grapevine Creek. 3) Upon completion, the temporar'/crossing will stay in place for approximately twenty working days. 4) After the export of soils from the Irving side to the Coppeil side, a back-hoe will remove the creek crossing soils and pipe then return the creek wails back to their pre-existing grades. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regar0ing this matter.
