We understand that the existing 8 inch "stub-out" cannot be located; theref'ore, a new cormection
to the existing 12 inch waterline which runs parallel to Denton Tap Road, will be required. The
new 8 inch waterline is to be installed by bo~ing under the street Bore and receiving pits will be
approximately 12 Feet in depth. This addendum to our original trench safety plan, covers shoring
guidelines tbr lhe protection of workmen in the bore and receiving pits. Ail other requirements
outlined in the original plan shall be, by reference, a part o£this document.
The contractor shall usc trench shields as the primm-y means of protection with 1 inch steel plate
to be installed at Ihe face and rear o£ the trench shields. If any voids occur bet:ween the
l>lates/trench shields, they shall he filled with flee flowing granular material to inhibit ~y lateral
movemenl of the adjacent so~s. Schematic drawings are included to show details.
